Celtics-Mavericks Game 5: What to know about road closures near TD Garden
In addition to road closures, Boston officials announced limited business access around TD Garden Monday night.
The Celtics host the Mavericks for Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night with the chance to secure a record-setting 18th NBA Championship title.
As roughly 20,000 fans flock to the West End to watch the sold-out matchup at TD Garden – and many more at surrounding bars and restaurants – local officials are focused on keeping Bostonians safe in anticipation of game-day celebrations.
Boston police announced Monday that they will again be enforcing road closures around the arena, affecting both vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Causeway Street, in addition to all streets connecting Causeway to New Chardon Street, will be shut down following the first quarter of the game.
Officials also announced that by halftime, there will be no re-entry to any establishments within the “Finals Hub” area near TD Garden.
Game 5 between the Celtics and the Mavericks tips off Monday at 8:30 p.m. The Celtics lead the best-of-seven series 3-1, as they look to end the 16-year NBA championship drought.
