Viewers may have caught an early Boston cameo during the first episode of Season 21 of ABC’s “The Bachelorette,” which started airing last week. Jenn Tran, this season’s leading lady, has lived, worked and studied in the city.

Tran is studying to become a physician assistant at Tufts Medical Center.

After graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2020 with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Science, Tran moved to Boston. The 26-year-old worked as a clinical care technician until 2022 and as a bartender at Cisco Brewers, Inc. for a few months. She has also volunteered with local organizations to address food insecurity in disadvantaged communities across the city, according to her LinkedIn.

Of Vietnamese descent, Tran is the first Asian-American to star in “The Bachelor” franchise. She was a contestant on season 28 of “The Bachelor,” which aired earlier this year, where she was eliminated in week 7.

Season 21 of “The Bachelorette” is currently airing after its premiere on July 8. New episodes come out every Monday and can be streamed on ABC with a Hulu + Live TV subscription.
