Sally’s Apizza, the famous New Haven pizzeria known for its charred pies, is expanding even more in Greater Boston with new restaurants on the horizon.

The growing restaurant announced that it had plans for two new pizzerias in Massachusetts, one in Concord and the other in Dorchester.

The Dorchester location is set to open in the South Bay Center off of I-93, while the Concord location is part of a new development. It will include a Starbucks and Chipotle and will be located in the former Papa Razzi Trattoria, according to a Sally’s press release this week.

Both are slated to open in 2025, and a Seaport location is also on the way, its opening date now pushed to 2025 as well.

Greater Boston quickly proved to be a successful next spot for the Connecticut-based pizza chain to expand, after its Woburn location opened in December 2023 to lines out the door and hours-long waits for their chewy coal-fired pies. The Sally’s press release said their Woburn location was one of the chain’s busiest.

Before the move to Massachusetts, Sally’s was already an iconic spot for apizza — pronounced “ah-beetz” — for nearly a century in New Haven, a city that has become a pizza destination because of restaurants like Sally’s. It’s only been in the last several years, when new ownership took over, that they decided to expand the brand beyond the apizza capital.
