David Ortiz admitted viewers might think he’s a little crazy as he, Alex Rodriguez, and Derek Jeter were asked for their World Series predictions during the broadcast of the MLB All-Star Game on FOX.

Jeter picked the Phillies, Rodriguez picked the Yankees, and Ortiz yelled to a person positioned off-camera who threw him a Red Sox batting helmet.

“Not so fast big guy,” Ortiz said in response to Rodriguez’s Yankees prediction. “You guys might think I’m crazy … I gotta go to my Red Sox.”

Ortiz put on the Red Sox helmet and started poking Jeter and Rodriguez with his finger.

“The front office, we’re going to make some moves,” Ortiz said. “We’re going to get what we need. We’re going to get the Phillies at their house. We’re going to finish them off. Dave Dombrowski, my guy, watching us. Good luck.”

The Red Sox are third in the American League East, 4.5 games behind the first-place Orioles. The second-place Yankees are one game behind Baltimore.

The Red Sox are third in the Wild Card standings behind the Yankees and the Twins. Baseball Reference says Boston has a 66.7 percent chance to reach the playoffs.

Philadelphia has the best record in baseball at 62-34. They are the only team to reach 60 wins so far.

The Red Sox have some momentum going, winning nine of their last 12 games before the All-Star break. Outfielder Jarren Duran was named All-Star MVP after hitting a two-run home run to break a tie in the fifth inning.

The Red Sox are set to host the Yankees for a series at Fenway Park next weekend. Boston is 4-2 against New York this season, including a pair of wins in the Bronx earlier this month.

At 53-42, the Red Sox are in the running for a playoff spot a little more than halfway through the regular-season. Ortiz’s World Series prediction may seem ambitious to some, but he doesn’t seem to mind that.
