With the Bruins trying to keep their season alive ahead of a do-or-die Game 6, Boston brought out a postseason legend to fire up TD Garden before another heated postseason bout with the Panthers on Causeway Street.

Just ahead of puck drop between the Bruins and Panthers, former Bruins goaltender and 2011 Conn Smythe Trophy winner Tim Thomas served as the team’s fan banner captain — with the Garden crowd erupting as soon as he was showcased on the Garden videoboard.

You can watch the TD Garden crowd’s reaction below:

Over 25 games during that playoff campaign, Thomas posted a .940 save percentage and four shutouts — including a 37-save clean sheet in a title-clinching Game 7 against the Canucks.

The Bruins are hoping that Thomas’ presence will provide the necessary lift needed to force a decisive Game 7 in this series. Jeremy Swayman has done his best Thomas impression so far during this current playoff run — entering Game 6 with a .933 save percentage over 11 games against Toronto and Florida.
