A mix of former Boston Celtics, current New England Patriots, and an Olympic gold medalist are at TD Garden Sunday night to watch the Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals.
Close to a dozen former Celtics players are on hand to watch Game 2, including Hall of Famer Paul Pierce. Ex-Celtics who were at Game 1 and are back for Game 2 of the 2024 NBA Finals include Dana Barros, Tacko Fall, Leon Powe, and Shaquille O’Neal.
Rapper BIA, a Medford native who is currently signed to Pharrell’s I Am Other label, will perform at halftime. Her most recent appearance on the Billboard Hot 100 came on the track “Likka Sto 2” alongside Travis Scott, who is also at TD Garden for the game along with producer Metro Boomin.
Needham native and gold medal gymnast Aly Raisman, who sat courtside at TD Garden during the 2022 NBA Finals, is in the house tonight. So are a trio of Bruins players in David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, and Jeremy Swayman.
Members of the Philadelphia Eagles outnumbered New England Patriots players at Game 1, but that shouldn’t be the case tonight. Patriots Ja’Whaun Bentley, Deatrich Wise, and KJ Osborn are at Game 2, as are former coach Bill Belichick and recently retired special teams ace Matthew Slater, who will receive a video tribute during the game.
