The Red Line, which offers a sweeping view of the Charles River, will be shutting down for parts of July for work on the tracks.
This train line closed this weekend with shuttle buses replacing service between Alewife and JFK/UMass stops, according to the MBTA’s X account.

For July 15-28, shuttle buses will replace service between Alewife and Kendall and extend to Park St after 8:30 p.m. and all day on weekends.
On July 27-28, the shuttles extend to JFK/UMass, and express buses and commuter rails are available as well.

The MBTA website also encourages travelers to utilize biking and walking paths during these shutdowns as an alternative method of travel to the T.
