Man convicted in rape at Framingham hotel

Lance McDonald sexually assaulted a woman at a Red Roof Inn.

Lance McDonald, 37, was convicted on Tuesday in connection with a 2022 rape of a woman at the Red Roof Inn in Framingham.

McDonald was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of armed robbery, one count of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and one count of a wiretap violation, according to a statement from the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

McDonald arranged to meet the 42-year-old woman in response to an advertisement for sexual services, the statement said.

Upon arrival, McDonald physically and sexually assaulted the woman, threatening to kill her with a knife before striking her in the head with a coat hanger and robbing her, authorities say.

The woman gave investigators photographs of McDonald, and a surveillance system screenshot from the hotel also helped them to identify him, the DA’s office said. Police searched McDonald’s phone and uncovered a recording of the incident taken without the woman’s knowledge or consent, officials say.

McDonald was convicted on Tuesday in Middlesex Superior Court, and his sentencing is scheduled for July 31.
