Dorchester woman wins $1 million from Jaws instant ticket
The woman from Dorchester is the first winner of the million dollar prize. The Jaws ticket is a new game with a chance to win a trip to Martha's Vineyard as well.
A Dorchester woman is the first $1 million winner of the Jaws instant ticket.
The scratch-off is the first of its kind to feature the movie “Jaws,” which was filmed on Martha’s Vineyard.
Solange Villard bought three tickets, all of them winners. The first two yielded $50 and $100 prizes, and on the third, Villard won $1 million, according to the lottery.
She chose to take a one-time payment of $650,000 before taxes. According to Villard, she plans to spend the money on buying a home and taking care of her children and grandchildren.
The Jaws instant ticket was officially released on March 26.
